My girls love stuffed animals and reading. I love it when toys inspire them to use their imaginations and encourage them to read. Some of my favorite gifts I received at my baby showers were children’s classic books and stuffed animals.
YOTTOY is a small toy manufacturer founded in 1995 by Kate Karcher Clark with the mission to create toys with the finest details that encourage a special interaction between adult and children. All YOTTOYS are designed by hand in their New York Studio and feature hand-embroidery, hand-sewing, and the finest fabrics chosen by founder Clark and YOTTOY Creative Director Peter Doodeheefver.
YOTTOY’s one-of-a-kind toy design includes three collections: signature, classic, and contemporary. YOTTOY makes beautiful plush toys featuring favorite children’s characters you are already probably familiar with, such as Clifford the Big Red Dog, Maisy, and My First Paddington Bear. YOTTOY also features soft toys from the classic Golden Books series, such as the Poky Little Puppy.
YOTTOYS are found in chic specialty stores, art galleries, private clubs, art museums and exclusive hotels. Here in Nashville you can find them at Philips Toy Mart and the gift shop at Cheekwood. Their website is easy to navigate, with a helpful Gift Ideas section to help shoppers decide on the perfect gift for a girl, boy, baby, or a special theme, such as a Crazy for Maisy gift set.
We were sent two plush toys and their accompanying children’s book: Knuffle Bunny by Mo Willems, which my girls were already familiar with and love, and the endearingly cute Big Frog Can’t Fit In for kids ages 4 to 8 with the accompanying 14-inch plush toy that was absolutely adorable. Big Frog is now one of our new favorite children’s books! The illustrations are fun, engaging, and colorful.
My oldest daughter with the amazing pop-out book (is it just me or do all kids LOVE pop-out books?) Big Frog Can’t Fit In.
I’d definitely recommend this small toy maker the next time you are looking for a birthday, baby, or holiday gift for your favorite young reader!
