One of my favorite series of books as a little girl was the Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis. I still have the books to this day and I’m 41 years old.
We enjoy popcorn and family movie night every Friday and recently had the chance to review The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, the third installment in this fantasy series of movies based on the books by Lewis. The story is riveting enough to keep even adults entertained as you follow along with Edmund and Lucy and their cousin Eustace after they are magically transported back to Narnia when a captivating painting of a ship at sea comes to life. Once on board the Dawn Treader they join their friend King Caspian and their noble mouse friend Reepicheep in a quest to rescue a group of great lords who had been lost fighting evil. Their exciting voyage takes them to mysterious islands and they confront mystical creatures and reunite with the Great Lion Aslan. Along the way they are tempted by their weakest character traits in a true test of courage and will-power.
This is an excellent family movie that everyone can enjoy and would make an excellent addition to your family movie library. The plot is engaging, the special effects are amazing, and I found myself wanting to read the book once again. Four thumbs up from our house! This is one movie I don’t mind my girls watching again and again.
