Winter Break Family Movie Pick: Dolphin Tale

Dolphin Tale 1024x1024 Winter Break Family Movie Pick: Dolphin Tale

My girls have been anxiously waiting for Dolphin Tale to be released on DVD/Blu-ray. We missed it at the theater and it looked like just their kind of movie. They love nature, animals, and the beach and Dolphin Tale has all this, plus a great message of inspiration that everyone can appreciate.

Released December 20 on DVD/Blu-ray just in time for the holidays, Dolphin Tale is the true story of the friendship between a little boy and Winter, an injured dolphin in Clearwater, Florida, who defied the odds of survival after losing her tail. The boy, Sawyer, helps rescue Winter and the two are inseparable. Sawyer’s cousin is injured in the war and when he returns to the VA hospital Sawyer approaches the prosthetic expert (played by Morgan Freeman) about developing a special prosthetic tail for Winter.

If you’re looking for a great family movie this winter break then look no further than this sweet movie. It’s one that is appropriate for the entire family to sit down and enjoy! You can even research Winter’s story and learn more about her and her home at the Clearwater Marine Aquarium in Florida at SeeWinter.com

Dolphin Tale is now on sale for just $14.99 at Amazon (DVD only) and the DVD/Blu-ray pack is on sale at Amazon for $24.99.The Blu-ray combo pack includes several fun special features including a behind-the-scenes look at the real Winter’s home in Clearwater, Florida, how the making of Winter’s prosthetic tail has helped human amputees, and an animated short about the legend of Rainbow Bridge, mentioned in the film, narrated by Harry Connick Jr.

The cast of Dolphin Tale includes several of my favorite actors including Harry Connick Jr., Morgan Freeman, Kris Kristofferson, and Ashley Judd.

Dolphin Tale would make a wonderful addition to your family movie library.
