I have a pretty fair complexion but this time of year I start wearing shorts and sleeveless shirts to my daughters’ weekend soccer games as well as skirts and sandals to my office. I just want a little bit of healthy color to my legs (no need to frighten small children with my ghostly white legs!) It takes me a lonnnnnnng time to tan and I tend to freckle first. I don’t have much time to actually “work” on a tan (oh how I make myself chuckle) like I did when I had tons of spare time on the weekends in my 20s.
I have tried self tanning lotion in the past but often they have an “odd” chemical type odor or they are too dark for my skin. I’ve been using a great self tanner with SPF 15 from SmartShield the past two weekends. Temperatures here in Nashville have finally hit the low 80s and we’ve been really busy with outdoor activities on the weekends. I already have a little bit of a base tan for the summer thanks to this self tanner.
SmartShield Self Tanner is oil-free and contains Vitamins A, C, and E, along witih Aloe Vera to moisturize your skin. It’s unique in that its formula uses DHA insstead of dyes or stains to cause the body to produce melanin and create a natural tan.
SmartShield Self Tanner is also waterproof, PABA-free, and blocks both UVB and UVA rays that cause premature aging.
One of my favorite things about this product is the scent. It has a light tropical type scent with a hint of coconut. I love that I can apply it on the weekends and then go about my outdoor activities and “work” on my tan, while also getting the protection of an SPF 15 sunscreen.
SmartShield Self Tanner with SPF 15 is available online at www.smartshield.com and retails for $11.99 for a 4.5 oz. bottle.
