Do you Groupon? You should!
Groupon is a great city specific deal site for savings on local activities, restaurants, etc. in your city but you don’t have to limit yourself to just those deals. One of my friends I’ve known since high school who travels quite a bit with her family gave me a great travel savings tip for Groupon which I’d never thought of before. Sign up to receive deals for cities you’ll be traveling to in the coming year. For example, we are heading to Jekyll Island, Georgia, this summer and I’ve signed up to receive Groupon deals for the nearby Savannah, Georgia, area and have already seen several amazing deals on everything from local restaurants to a boat tour of the island. Headed to Disney World or Universal Orlando? Sign up for the Orlando deals!
I’m in Nashville and have purchased Groupons for a great kids’ hair salon and for Monkey Joe’s, a fun bouncy play center for kids. Don’t have kids? There are Groupons for restaurants, salons, and pretty much any kind of business you can imagine! Groupon also frequently features great deals for online shops featuring everything from home decor to wine.
For a limited time (now until June 13), you can earn $30 in Groupon Bucks every time you refer someone new to Groupon. That’s three times the normal reward of $10!
Best of all, there’s no limit on how many friends you can refer, or how many Groupon Bucks you can earn.
Some of my Groupon picks for this weekend, which are good no matter what city you’re in:
Back Yard Burgers (multiple locations) – $5 for two classic 1/3 pound burgers
Diapers Direct (Birmingham online deal) – $25 for $50 worth of diapers and wellness products
Nature’s Prime Organic Foods (Birmingham online deal) – $30 for $60 worth of steak burgers and turkey burgers
ScanMyPhotos.com (Boston online deal) – $29 for 1,000 photos converted to DVD (think Christmas present!)
Photo Weavers (New Orleans online deal) – $64 for a custom photo blanket (another great gift idea)
Larger Than Life Prints (Charleston online deal) $35 for a panoramic wall mural valued at $84 (fantastic for a great vacation photo)
Bon Appetit Magazine (Washington, D.C., online deal) $7 for 12-month subscription
