I’m always on the lookout for fun new birthday party venues, so when a company from Thousand Oaks, California, called Kookie Krazy contacted me about trying their online custom order cookies and I read about their unique business, I thought “why have I never thought of that?” Then I wondered, why don’t we have one of these places in Nashville?
Kookie Krazy is a first of its kind, create-your-own cookie baking adventure geared toward kids, groups, or anyone just wanting to have a fun baking experience. They offer birthday party packages for groups of 10 or more and also cater toward organizations and groups who want to participate in a unique team-building activity. You can also buy cookies in their Thousand Oaks storefront or have them delivered (along with gift baskets or personalized cookie cakes.)
I tried out Kookie Krazy’s online delivery service and Konfigurator to design my cookies. First of all, the interface on their website is very cool. You can choose from several different cookie dough varieties as your base: sugar, plain, oatmeal, chocolate, peanut butter, and espresso. They have a huge assortment of add-ins to your cookies, from pecans to chocolate chips or candy add-ins like M&Ms or Whoppers. I also love the more exotic add-ins like chocolate espresso beans to dried mangos. Kookie Krazy has also found a great, safe way to make edible raw cookie dough, without the danger of ingesting raw eggs. Their cookies are made with pasteurized egg whites from Eggology Inc. which is safe to eat uncooked. The shop even sells cups of raw cookie dough for snacking.
Delivery was fast (two-day) and the cookies came individually sealed in a colorful purple tub with the fun Kookie Krazy logo. My Kookie Krazy testers are 7 and 4 and they both gave the traditional chocolate chip cookies a thumbs up.
For $19.99 you get one dozen cookies (these are generously-sized) with two add-ins. These would be a great gift for your favorite college kid headed off to campus this fall.
