This giveaway is closed. The winner is Mandy Burkett, who commented, “We haven’t been to the movies in a long time, but we have watched several on tv. Our latest favorite was Mickey’s Twice Upon a Christmas.” Congrats to everyone and be sure to check the Savvy Giveaways category for all current giveaways. Thanks!
We watch a lot of movies during Christmas break and we recently got a few new family DVDs to enjoy.
Wubbzy’s Christmas Adventure (SRP: $16.98)
Animated preschool favorite Wow! Wow! Wubbzy! invites families to join Wubbzy, along with his best pals Widget, Walden, and Daizy –– as they get ready for some Christmastime excitement. Much amusing mayhem ensues when Wubbzy and the gang decorate the Figgity Fig Tree, go slippery-sledding, fix Walden’s snow sculpture – and actually solve the mystery of the Snow Shoo-Shoo! Together, the friends even manage to cheer up Old Man Grumpus and become Santa’s special helpers in delivering lots of presents!
This new 70-minute DVD includes extra-special bonus features such as cute printable holiday cards, awesome coloring and activity sheets, and music videos full of winter cheer.
My girls love Wubbzy so this was a fun addition to our DVD collection.
The Dog Who Saved Christmas (SRP $19.97)
Part of ABC Family’s 2009 “25 Days of Christmas,” The Dog Who Saved Christmas is a “fetching” live-action comedic tale about love and loyalty, featuring the highly-recognizable voice talent of Mario Lopez (Dancing With the Stars, Saved by the Bell) as Zeus, a mischievous yellow Labrador. Zeus appears to be less than the dependable guard dog the Bannister family needs, but when two befuddled burglars set out to break into the family’s home while they are away for Christmas, the careless canine snatches the chance to be a hero, proving that every dog – even this one – has his day!
The Dog Who Saved Christmas boasts a “top dog” team of talent, including Adrienne Barbeau (Fly Me to the Moon), Dean Cain (Superman: The Adventures of Lois & Clark), Elise Donovan (Clueless; Sabrina, The Teenage Witch), and Gary Valentine (King of Queens). Adding two fresh young faces to the cast as the Bannister children are Sierra McCormack (Land of the Lost, Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader?) and Charlie Stewart (The Suite Life of Zack & Cody).
The Velveteen Rabbit (SRP: $14.98)
Children and families nationwide need not wait until Easter for a visit from their favorite rabbit! One of the most beloved family tales of all time returns in this enchanting combination of live-action drama and animated adventure. The Velveteen Rabbit tells the story of a boy named Toby who is sent by his busy father to spend the holiday season with his stern grandmother. Toby’s world instantly brightens when he discovers the house’s “magic attic,” where three forgotten toys – including a special stuffed rabbit – unlock an imaginative world that will change all their lives forever!
Starring the voice talents of Jane Seymour, Tom Skeritt and Ellen Burstyn, this charming and unforgettable classic will be a gift to treasure all year long.
This was my favorite movie of the three DVDs. I love this classic story!
