After seeing the movie previews my girls were so excited to watch Shrek Forever After in 3D at the theatre last Friday. It was a great way to kick off Memorial Day weekend and celebrate the end of the school year!
My 7-year-old is a huge Nintendo DS fan and was also thrilled to test out the Shrek Forever After Nintendo DS game just released from Activision. Both she and her little sister were practically fighting over who would play it first. Shrek Forever After features the four main characters from the No. 1 animated Shrek series: Shrek, Fiona, Puss In Boots, and Donkey. Each character has their own unique game skills. The game has been rated E (Cartoon Violence) for the Nintendo DS by the ESRB and was fun for both my 5-year-old and almost 8-year-old, although it was definitely more difficult for my younger daughter. The graphics are fun and colorful and the game features a drop-in, drop-out mode so up to four people can play. I haven’t tried this yet, but I need to! The girls also liked the way the game is setup with a combination of problem solving and the usual combat game play as the characters battle against Rumpelstiltskin. The game also features two worlds to play in: Shrek’s normal world and the alternate reality that he enters after signing a contract with Rumpelstiltskin to give up a day in his life.
If your kids are Shrek fans they will love this new family friendly DS game from Activision.
