Fruit For All Juicy Juice Food Bank Giveaway

This giveaway is over. Carolsue who commented, “I learned that 1 in 5 kids in the US are food insecure,” is the winner. Congrats to Carolsue and thank you to everyone who entered!

My girls just attended VBS at a local church that is also host to a neighborhood food bank. Although, thankfully, hunger has not touched our lives, they learned about the real impact of hunger. Did you know that 1 in 5 of the 16 million children in the U.S. are food insecure? What does that mean? The lack of access at times to enough nutritionally adequate foods for an active healthy life.

As part of its Fruit For All Project, Juicy Juice has pledged to donate up to 35 million pieces of fruit to children in need. Summer leaves children who are already food insecure at even greater risk. Kids are on summer break and don’t have access to the National School Lunch Program and research shows that donations to food banks decline during summer months.

Between June 1 and August 31, a piece of fruit will be provided to hungry kids and their families each time a Juicy Juice product is purchased (my girls love their juice). Kids and their parents can also get involved by logging on to Juicy Juice’s Facebook page or FruitForAllProject.com to complete fun activities like games, quizzes and puzzles to earn even more fruit donations for those in need.

I am so excited to be able to provide ya’ll with a really cool opportunity to help alleviate hunger in your own community. One lucky BlondeMomShops reader will win a donation of 400 meals to their local food bank!

Simply visit the Fruit For All Project online and them come back and leave a comment here letting me know something you learned about this great initiative.

For up to five additional entries to this giveaway (please leave a new and separate comment on this post for each of these you do):

I’ll select a winner from all eligible comments using Random.org; giveaway closes at midnight CST Saturday, July 14. Giveaway is open to U.S. residents, ages 18 and up.

Disclosure: Juicy Juice is donating 400 meals to my local food bank as well as providing the same prize to a reader of this blog.
