I’m a firm believer that you don’t have to spend a lot of green to look gorgeous!
I just attended a great blogger event hosted by GE in Louisville, Kentucky. One of the highlights of the GE Momsperience was a dinner held at beautiful Churchill Downs, home of the Kentucky Derby. Everyone looked fantastic posing in their fun Derby hats we had made the night before as well as the outfits they’d packed especially for this event. I don’t think anyone I spoke to spent more than $100 total on their entire ensemble.
I thought I was doing good with my $19.99 dress from TJ Maxx, but check out some of these frugalista mamas. Some bloggers, like Secret Agent Mama, “shopped” in their own closets, too.
Here’s a fun wrap up of some of the fun looks from the evening. Everyone looked beautiful!
Caitlin from Pacifier in My Pocket
Dress from Ross ($14.99) Shoes from Target ($12) Necklace, earrings, and bracelets from Charming Charlie ($14.99 and $7.99). I love the incredible color of Caitlin’s dress!
Calie from Broccoli Cupcake
Dress ($50) and belt ($16) from Gin-O in downtown Franklin, Tennessee. Frye boots (gift.) Calie notes that although her outfit was kind of pricey compared to her normal shopping, she splurged because she plans on wearing it again to several things such as her husband’s work going away party and their family beach trips this summer.
Allison from House of Hepworths
Dress from H&M ($20) and shoes from Target ($16).
Jamie from Mommy’s Camera
Dress ($8) and Steve Madden shoes ($15) from a thrift store called Unique.
Kristi from Creative Kristi
Dress ($49) and nude pumps($25-$30) from Target.
Shell from Things I Can’t Say
Dress ($79.99) from White House Black Market OUTLET and shoes from Rack Room Shoes ($17.99).
“White House Black Market is my go-to store when I need a dress that isn’t designed for a teenager or a grandma- especially when time is limited because I know I can quickly find something appropriate there. But, it has to be a special occasion because the prices are often way out of my budget.”
Ashley from Just Another Mom of 2 (whose dress was from Banana Republic on sale for $99), Shell from Things I Can’t Say, and one of our wonderful GE hosts, Megan
