This giveaway is closed! The winner is ferriz who commented April 15, “we have 2 longish haired cats and i swear one sheds more fur DAILY than he has on his massive furry body…”
Pet hair sucks. Pets don’t.
As a mama to two fur babies, Zoey and Jack, I am constantly battling THE DOG HAIR.
Vacuuming releases endorphins in me like no other household chore. There’s nothing as satisfying as seeing all the “gunk” that’s sucked up. We just have two rooms in our home with carpet (the rest are hardwoods) but that carpet takes a beating!
Eureka sent me their latest pet hair conquering vacuum, the SuctionSeal Pet, to try.
First of all, I assembled this vacuum by myself. This in and of itself is a huge deal as I’m not very mechanically inclined and can be intimidated by any sort of appliance or gadget that needs assembling. I usually enlist my husband’s help but I put it together with ease and was ready to tackle our den carpet, which has definitely seen better days.
The SuctionSeal Pet uses something fancy called SuctionSeal Technology with All-Surface Suction Plates. From the Eureka website…it’s “designed to prevent pushing, blowing and scattering of debris while vacuuming, the plates rise and lower as the vacuum moves across carpet and hard surfaces, creating a seal to maximize airflow for powerful cleaning performance.”
Eureka’s SuctionSeal Pet features a HEPA filter with odor-absorbing charcoal. My husband has horrible allergies so a HEPA filter is a feature I always look for in a new vacuum. The SuctionSeal Pet also features Eureka’s popular, and exclusive to them, AirSpeed Technology. This technology uses two wide, smooth tubes with limited bends and turns, allowing more air to pass through the vacuum for powerful suction. Most vacuums propel air through a long nozzle and hose system that isn’t as effective.
So how did it work? The SuctionSeal makes those satisfying freshly cleaned “vacuum grooves” on our sad old berber carpet. In fact, Eureka has tested this vacuum against Dyson’s DC25 and DC41 and says it cleans better than those models. In full disclosure, I have never owned a Dyson, but I will say I was impressed with the suction poewr of Eureka’s SuctionSeal. It’s also very lightweight and easy to maneuver so even my 9-year-old can use it with ease. I also love the retractable cord. I’ve never owned a vacuum with that feature and really love that the cord doesn’t get all tangled and difficult to wrap up when it’s time to put it away. Hey, it’s the simple design elements that can sometimes make you happiest. I also love that you can easily switch from carpet to hardwood mode.
One lucky Savvy Housewife reader will win their own Eureka SuctionSeal Pet vacuum!
